Licence terms

Last updated 6 October 2026

These terms say what you may do with software made by Evolving Audio (“we”). They apply to every product on this website, to demos and to licensed copies. By installing or using the software you agree to them.

1. Who you buy from, and who licenses the software

Purchases are made through our reseller, who acts as merchant of record and is named in the imprint and on your receipt. The reseller sells you the licence and handles payment, tax and the invoice under its own buyer terms, which you accept at checkout.

The right to use the software comes from us, under these terms. Product support also comes from us.

2. Demo versions

Demos are free. They are limited, for example in time, in the number of projects or in what they output; the product page says which limits apply. You may use a demo to evaluate the product. It is not meant for producing releases.

3. Your licence

  • When you buy a licence, you receive a non-exclusive right to use that version of the product for an unlimited time, for private and commercial work.
  • A licence is for one person, or for one business. It can be active on more than one computer at a time; the product page says on how many.
  • The software stays our property. You receive a right to use it, not ownership of the software itself.

4. What you make is yours

Music, audio, arrangements, presets and exports you create with our software belong to you. We claim no rights in them and ask for no credit.

5. Activation and licence keys

  • A licensed copy is unlocked with a licence key. No hardware key and no third-party licence account is needed. Activation needs an internet connection once per computer; for a computer without one, there is offline activation.
  • The software may check from time to time that the licence is still valid. What is sent when it does is described in the privacy statement.
  • You can move a licence to another computer by deactivating it on the old one. If that computer is gone, write to us.
  • Keep your key to yourself. You may not publish it, share it with others or rent it out.

6. Updates and new versions

Fixes and improvements to the version you bought are included. We may offer a new major version as a paid upgrade. The version you bought keeps working whether or not you upgrade, as far as your operating system and host software allow.

7. What you may not do

  • remove or bypass the licence check, or help others to do so;
  • copy or distribute the software, except for your own backups and installations within your licence;
  • decompile or modify the software, except where the law gives you that right, for example to make it work with other software.

8. Third-party components

Our software contains components by others that are published under their own open licences. Those licences apply to those components and are named with the product. Nothing in these terms limits the rights they give you.

9. Refunds

Every product has a free demo. Please use it before you buy: it is the best way to know whether the product fits your work and runs on your system.

If something is wrong after a purchase, write to hello@evolving-audio.com and we will try to solve it. Refund requests are decided together with the reseller, under its buyer terms and the law that applies to your purchase. If a refund is given, the licence ends and its key stops working.

10. Warranty

We build our software with care and describe it truthfully on the product pages. No software is free of errors, and we cannot promise that it works with every system, host or future operating system version. If you find a defect, tell us, and we will fix it where we reasonably can.

If you are a consumer, you have rights under the law of the country where you live, for example when a product does not conform to what was agreed. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away.

11. Liability

  • We are fully liable for damage we cause intentionally or through deliberate recklessness, and wherever the law does not allow liability to be limited.
  • If you use the software in the course of a business or profession, our liability for any other damage is limited to the amount you paid for the product, and we are not liable for indirect damage such as lost income or lost projects.
  • Whoever you are: keep backups of your projects and audio. We are not responsible for data that could have been restored from a backup.

12. When a licence ends

Your licence has no end date. It ends if the purchase is refunded or charged back, or if you seriously break these terms, for example by publishing your key. When it ends you must stop using the licensed copy.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for future versions and future purchases. For a licence you already have, the terms that applied when you bought it continue to apply, unless a change is in your favour.

14. Law and disputes

Dutch law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live and may bring a case before the courts there. For business users, the court in Amsterdam is competent.
