It is emailed right after payment, together with your invoice. If it isn’t there after ten minutes, check spam, then write to us.

Skeleton: open Settings → Licence, paste the key and click Activate.

Lichtenberg: open the gear in the top right of the panel, paste the key and press Activate. The demo’s silence stops at once; there is nothing to reinstall.

Both need an internet connection for this step. If the computer has none, use offline activation below.

Use offline activation. The software shows a request code in its settings. Type that code and your licence key into the page on any device that is online, and carry the file you get back to the offline computer. The file is signed for that one machine.

Deactivate the licence on the old computer in the software’s settings, then activate it on the new one. A Skeleton licence can be active on up to three computers at once.

Old computer already gone? Email us your key and we’ll free up the activation.

Yes. A licensed copy of Skeleton checks in about once a day when it can and works offline for up to 30 days between checks. A licensed copy of Lichtenberg keeps working offline.

Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Skeleton into Applications. It is signed and notarised by Apple, so it opens without warnings.

Run the downloaded installer. It puts Skeleton in the Start menu and installs Microsoft’s WebView2 component if your PC doesn’t have it yet.

The Windows installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows may show a blue “Windows protected your PC” notice. Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. Only do this for an installer you downloaded from this website.

Run the installer and pick the formats your host loads: CLAP, VST3 or Audio Unit (macOS). Lichtenberg also comes as a standalone application.

If the plug-in doesn’t show up afterwards, let your host rescan its plug-ins.

Skeleton checks for updates itself. You can also check any time in Settings → Updates or via the Skeleton menu → Check for Updates.

Lichtenberg tells you in its panel when a new version is out. Download the installer from its page and run it.

Without a licence key, Skeleton runs as a demo for 14 days from the first start. It is the full app with three limits: one project, a short burst of noise every 30 seconds in exported WAV files, and three exports with an Ableton Live set or MIDI. Your project stays when you activate.

It is the full plug-in with three seconds of silence in every forty-five. There is no time limit. Enter a licence key and the silence stops; it is the same file, so there is nothing to reinstall.
